The Road to Hell is Paved with Good Intentions

Isn't that a saying? I think it is. If I took a picture of my "game room", you would be shocked. amazed. horrified. Why?

Well let me tell you a little story. See, I am kind of a hoarder. sort of a collector. just a smidge of an impulse buyer. In my defense, I am also a wee bit crafty. I have purchased probably every cool scrapbooking/paper-crafting product that has been made in the last two years. Nestabilities? yep. A bind-it-all? you bet. Cropodile? got both of em. Copic markers? on the way as we speak. A cricut? no kidding, with about 20 cartridges. Oh yeah, I also bought a bunch of templates for tear bears (still on the broken computer) and hundreds of pages of mulberry paper. Of course, I can't make the tear bears without faces, so I bought a set of peachy keen faces (still in the package). What else am I obsessed with? Let me think...oh yeah, I have a serious rubber stamp problem. The other day, my friend Ginger called me to see if I had a particular stamp set. Of course, I thought I did. I have so many, I don't even know what they are! While I was looking through the boxes and boxes of stamp sets I have, I was saying, "Oh, that is so cute, I love that!" like I was in a store or something.

I decided to make some Christmas gifts and needed the Just Rite stamper to do it. So I ordered it. A bunch of them. I love them! Have I used them? No. What do I do all day? Lay on the couch. I don't even do something constructive and worthwhile like watching TV. Just sit on the computer, favoriting pictures on Splitcoast that I want to case.

Today, I had a really busy day. I had to bring Kameron and Montgomery to soccer camp. Then I had to go to the post office to pick up the great products I bought on sale. Then I went by Miller's to visit Todd. Next I stopped by Michael's because they were having a spectacular sale on...you guessed it...cricut cartridges. I really want Blackletter. Of course, they didn't have that, so I got a couple of things on sale and looked at the Martha Stewart punches for the elusive balloon punch that I seriously need to make these birds. Eureka, they had one left! $36 later, I headed out to Computer Heaven to drop off the broken computer. Then back to Soccer Camp to pick up the kids. I excitedly showed Kameron the awesome Cuttlebug embossing folders I picked up at the post office. He feigned interest. He asked me if I already had one of them, but I assured him that I don't {{hopefully}}. When we got home, I placed my Michael's bag on the counter. I ran into the dining room as I remembered that I found the balloon punch, since Kameron has helped me scour many a craft rack for that little punch. He said, "Mom, are you gonna make the birds now?" ugh

Does it make a difference that I intend to make spectacular projects with all my much-needed supplies? I hope it does. I always intend to make what I say I am going to make. I want to be able to have handmade gifts to give to people and to sell at craft shows and on etsy. I really want to be able to make some extra money next year so I can...buy some more craft stuff?!? No really, just kidding. geesh!

So now I have two New Year's Resolutions. Make that three:

  1. I am going to clean out my house, so that I can find what I need, when I need it, and actually want to use it since I am not completely worn out from looking for it.
  2. I am going to make at least one real project a month (and several of them, so I will be prepared for the fall craft show season).
  3. I am going to stop cussing. really. I am.

And although the road to hell is paved with good intentions, I do have just that: good intentions. And next year, at this time, hopefully, you will be able to see all the cool stuff I have made :)

Kameron: Defensive Lineman of the Year

Tonight we had the Annual Banquet and Awards Night for Yellow Jackets Youth Football team. Last year, it was in the cafeteria of Denham Springs High School. This year, they decided to have it at Forest Grove. It was a big difference. This is Forest Grove, it was so beautiful:
When we got there, it was already crowded. There wasn't room for us to sit with my football friend ::hehe:: Mrs. Norma. So we sat two tables over. Kameron's friend-girl, Andrea, didn't want me to take her picture:

The football players sat with their teams. The families sat along the walls. While we waited for our turn to get in line for the food, Montgomery & Pattersen went to get us drinks.

Todd snapped a picture of Kameron waiting for his food:

After everyone ate, it was time to start the awards. They had cheerleading awards first. Then C team. Then B team. Then it was time for Kameron's team. First, they gave out participation trophies. Kameron's was the first name called:

Here is a picture of Kameron waiting for his teammates to line up with him. Doesn't he look pensive?

Next they called out all the teams for making it to the playoffs. A-team (Kameron's team) and B-team got medals, and C-team got cups. Here is Kameron with some of his teammates, showing off their medals:

Finally it was time for the coaches awards. Kameron's friend, Justin, got a coaches award. Finally, it was time for the special awards, the moment Kameron (and we) had been waiting for. Defensive Lineman of the Year: Kameron!

There were a total of six special awards. Here is Kameron in the middle of the group:

We are so proud of him. Kameron worked soooooooo hard this year! Here is a picture of Kameron with Coach Clint, the head coach of his team:

Finally, it was time to go. The banquet lasted a long time. We got the kids to pose for one group shot outside (take a look at Pattersen):

We were tired, but it was a great ending to a great season!

It's OVA!

Ah, sweet freedom! LOL After a hard week of exams and all kinds of stuff, the week is over and now I have TWO weeks of freedom from school :)

We have a very busy weekend though. Pattersen & Montgomery have dress rehearsal for their Choir program. Kameron's football banquet is on Saturday. and Sunday is Pattersen & Montgomery's program. Oh yeah, not to mention that I haven't started Christmas shopping yet. So wish me luck, that I can keep up with it all.

Arabella is the Queen

Yesterday, the things I ordered from Just Rite Stampers came in. I had to place an order because everything was 25% off at Flourishes. I am planning to make a few Christmas presents with them.

It isn't unusual for me to order something or to receive something in the mail. I was excited though when they came in:

But I wasn't as excited as someone else was. Arabella could hardly wait for me to take the stuff out of the box. As soon as I did, she jumped right in. She surveyed the box since it is much bigger than she is used to getting in:

One of the kids was going to take her out of the box, but she didn't seem to like that:

After all, she is the queen. Everyone may bow now:

Here are my new Just Rite stampers, I can't wait until school is out so I can make some awesome monogram sets!

Macho Men

You know that song...Macho Macho Man! I've got to be a Macho Man! Well, apparently, Kameron & Montgomery made this their theme song today :) For some reason, all they wanted to talk about was their muscles LOL. Here is Kameron:

And "Mo-t":
Each one of them are posing for the camera, showing off their muscles. As long as they don't break out with a chorus of YMCA, I guess I have nothing to worry about!

Montgomery Got a Cookie

Montgomery's class had a party today. One of the moms made each kid one of these beautiful cookies:
She even took the time to ice the name on each one! I can't imaging the work that went into this. I am so impressed! He ate his arm before I could take a picture. I think he probably did it so I wouldn't say he couldn't eat him. After all, it is like art!

Miller's Christmas Party

Today was the annual Christmas party for Todd's work. He drove some of the employees from Baton Rouge to Lafayette in a limo. I didn't go with him, but he said that he had a really good time. This is a picture of some of the Baton Rouge employees. Linda (the lady on the left) works at the store with Todd. Darryl and Edward (the gentlemen in red) drive limos. Linda's friend and Darryl's wife came too.

I really love Darryl. He drove my class to LIGO last year and gives us Bluebell Ice Cream Coupons. Merry Christmas :)

Another Elfed, with Mechelle!

I Elf'ed the Kids...LOL

I saw this last year but didn't do it. The next post is the Disco Dance and the next three posts are different dances. Kameron & Chance really loved this one. I think I was kinda partial to the Charleston Dance.
